CHICAGO, Ill. -- The NPU women's soccer team drew with the Aurora University Spartans for the second year in a row, this time in a 0-0 bout that extended into early Sunday afternoon.
While neither side was able to produce a goal, the Vikings were generally the ones putting the pressure on their opponent as NPU led Aurora in total shots, shots on goal, and corner kicks. Danielle Boudakh and Stella Alvstad paced the team with 2 shots on goal each, the latter doing so in just 34 minutes of action. GK Campbelle Hunt stopped all 3 such efforts from the Spartans on the other end of the pitch.
Winning those statistical categories and maintaining a clean record both represent positive takeaways for the Vikings as they look to improve upon last year's 3-14-1 finish. Off to a 1-0-1 start in 2022, they already are progressing towards that goal.
What's Next?
The Vikings have a few days off before they take the field again on Thursday, September 8th against UW-Platteville. Following last season's 4-2 loss, the Vikings will seek reprisal at 7:00 PM under the lights of the Holmgren Athletic Complex.
