CHICAGO, Ill. – The North Park men's volleyball team hosts their final home matches of the season on Saturday night, sweeping the Millikin Big Blue before being on the receiving end of one against UC-Santa Cruz.
In a perfect opening set, the Vikings attacked at a .556 clip – 10 kills and no errors in 18 attacks – to open the afternoon in a big way with a 25-11 win. They followed that up with 25-18 and 25-16 second and third sets, respectively, dominating the entire match.
The Vikings were better than the Big Blue in every category on the floor: 40 kills compared to 21, eight aces against three, two blocks to one, 37 assists to 19, and 38 digs to 25.
Vicente Cabrera led all attackers with 12 kills and a pair of service aces. Aaron Fajardo drove a career high six kills. Harrison Potts added a pair of service aces with Alejandro Condoy and Johnny Euler had 16 and 14 kills, respectively.
North Park was on the receiving end of a straight sets loss to the University of California, Santa Cruz in the final match of their hosted tri-match. This time, the Vikings could only muster a .126 attacking percentage while the Banana Slugs were steady at .467.
In the loss, Quinn Robinson led NPU with nine kills and Erik Bullard drove eight in his final match at the NPU Gym.

North Park (13-12, 4-6 CCIW) begins its fight for a playoff spot. The Vikings will next face Augustana College this coming Wednesday, March 30, at 7pm.
