WAUKESHA, Wis. – The North Park women's basketball team came away with a 84-50 loss Saturday afternoon in a matchup with Carroll University.
The Pioneers were hot out of the gate, shooting 50% in the first quarter and completely controlling on defense. It was 23-10 after one, but NPU fought back to outscore Carroll in the second. They did it with hard defense and an end to the half that included a Jayla Johnson layup with 34 seconds left, and a buzzer-beater from Josie Summerville.
Carroll could barely miss in the third and the 72% quarter wrote the rest of the script for North Park. Most of the roster got playing time in the final quarter and the regular season would end with a 34-point loss.
Quick Hits:
- Johnson provided half of the Viking points today, totaling 25 with nine boards.
- Summerville cracked her first double-double of the season with 12 points, 12 rebounds.
