CHICAGO, Ill. --Â The North Park University men's volleyball team had their first home game of the season on Tuesday night, finishing with a 3-1 victory over Edgewood College to improve to 2-0 on the season.Â
The Vikings took sets 1, 2, and 4, only dropping the 3rd set by a score of 24-26. Despite making more errors than Edgewood, the team made up for it with more kills, aces, and blocks than the Eagles.
Emmanuel Eugene was a huge source of all 3 for the Vikings, leading the team in kills and aces while tying for 2nd in blocks with teammate Quinn Robinson. Parker Payne led North Park in that department with 6. Setter Teddy Gedville registered 37 assists on the day, with plenty of them going to newcomer Vicente Cabrera who had a strong debut for the team with 9 kills. Defensively, Kaleb Patrick led the Vikings with 13 digs.
