Softball Splits with Millikin on the Road

Feazelle picks up the four-hit win in game two

Decatur, Ill. – The North Park University softball team got conference play going against Millikin University on Saturday afternoon in Decatur with a double-header versus the Big Blue. The Vikings lost the first game 4-3 in extras, while they took game two by a score of 7-2.

Game 1

Millikin walked it off in extras when they scored on an error in the bottom of the eighth inning to take game one by a score of 4-3. North Park got all their runs in the third inning when Erin Penn slapped a two RBI double down the right field line to score Alyssa Malicki and Rachael Feazelle. Right after, Jessie Fix got an RBI single to score Penn. Alyssa Malicki tossed all 7.2 innings for the Vikings, allowing three earned runs and striking out six.

Game 2

The North Park offense came out firing at the beginning of game two and put up four runs in the first frame. Feazelle, Penn, Fix, and Isa Santos all picked up RBIs in that inning. Feazelle took the win for the Vikings. She threw all seven innings and allowed only four hits.
