CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park University men's soccer team won its College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) opener against Augustana College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon.
North Park was quick to find the back of the net just three minutes in. Junior Gianfranco DeCarne heeled a pass forward to junior Arian Cindahl, who sent a cross from the left corner to junior Peder Olsen in the box, finishing with a header for the first goal of the game.

Though this would be the lone goal in the first half, there was plenty of action from North Park. In total, NPU took 13 shots while holding Augie to just one through the first 45.

Olsen tacked on his second goal of the game in the 57th minute, off assists from sophomore Patrick Knap and freshman William Sandkvist, to put North Park up by a pair of goals.
Despite 16 total shots in the second half, this would end the scoring for North Park as the host Vikings earned a 2-0 win.
