CHICAGO, Ill. -- The No. 10 North Pak University men's soccer team hosted a battle-tested Rowan University team on Sunday afternoon, falling by a score of 1-3.
The Profs, coming off of a 1-1 tied with No. 7 U-Chicago and a 1-0 win over No. 11 SUNY-Cortland, were quick to score. In the seventh minute, freshman Jay Vandermark tallied his sixth goal of the season as the Profs controlled possession for a large majority of the opening minutes.
Next, what looked to be an offsides player in Stephen Mecke received a through pass from Leo Montesinos. This caught the NPU defense by surprise, as Mecke sent in the second goal of the game for the Profs.
Going into halftime, Rowan led North Park 2-0.
Halftime: Rowan 2, North Park 0
Riding out some late first half momentum, the Vikings picked up their pace in the second half.
In the 83rd minute, junior midfielder Peder Olsen received a pass from freshman forward William Sandkvist, maneuvered through a pair of Rowan defenders, and beat the keeper with a skipping shot inside the left post as the Vikings pulled within one.

Unfortunately, Rowan's Vandermark notched his seventh goal of the season less than a minute later as the Profs took down the Vikings, 3-1.
FINAL: Rowan 3, North Park 1
Quick Hits:
- Olsen moves into sixth all-time in career points (70) and seventh all-time in goals (25)
