LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The North Park University men's basketball team opened its 2019-20 season on the road against the Lake Forest College Foresters, falling 91-62 inside the Lake Forest Sports and Recreation Center on Saturday night.
The Foresters started the game on a 21-4 run, until junior Lawrence Pointer tipped in a missed three-point shot, making the score 21-6. The Foresters led the Vikings by 22, holding a 47-25 lead at the half. Pointer led the Vikings with seven points while junior guard Toby Marek followed with six points. Junior forward Matt Szuba grabbed four rebounds to lead the Vikings.

Following the break, North Park forward Karl Polk, Jr. scored the first points of the half on a jumper, making the score 47-27, Foresters. Next, the Foresters marked the 10-straight points until Pointer stalled that run with a layup. After the Foresters and Vikings trade threes, Polk's dunk brought the score to 62-34.
Unfortunately, the Foresters edged the Vikings, 29-28, the rest of the way as Lake Forest defeated North Park, 91-62.
