DECATUR, Ill. – The North Park University men's soccer team avenged its sole 2018 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) loss with a dominant 5-0 shutout of the Millikin University Big Blue at Frank M. Lindsay Field on Saturday night.

North Park began the scoring in the 14th minute. After settling a pass from junior Peder Olsen, sophomore Patrick Knap faked the Millikin defense with a turnaround shot and sent a goal into the top-right corner of the net to give the Vikings an early lead.

Shortly after, in the 18th minute, junior Gustav Ericsson found freshman William Sandkvist on a long pass, who promptly netted his sixth goal of the season to extend the Viking lead. Sandkvist turned in his second goal in the 36th minute in breakaway fashion, giving the Vikings a three-goal lead.

The Big Blue offense was helpless as North Park's lockdown defense held Millikin to just three shots, with only one on goal, through the first 45 minutes of play.

Halftime: North Park 3, Millikin 0

North Park piled on in the second half.

In the 57th minute, off an assist by sophomore Ulrik Lund, Olsen scored his CCIW-leading 13th goal of the season and, in the 63rd minute, Ericsson sent in his first goal of the season as the Vikings were in cruise control.

Holding the Big Blue to just a single shot on goal, the Vikings earned a 5-0 win and extended their winning streak to four matches in a row.

Final: North Park 5, Millikin 0
