CHICAGO, Ill. --
The North Park University men's basketball team suffered its fourth loss of the season, 68-87, against the University of Chicago Maroons on Tuesday night.
The Vikings came out of the gate effectively, capturing a 4-0 lead on jumpers from Vegard Tangen and Toby Marek in the first 40 seconds of the game.
After nearly two minutes of scoreless play, the University of Chicago would mark their first point on a free throw from Cole Schmitz. The Vikings quickly responded with another jumper from Tangen to maintain a 6-1 lead.
Unfortunately, the Maroons would wake up late in the back ten minutes of the first half. Chicago's Noah Karras shot 7-9 from the field, including 3-3 beyond the arc, to capture a game-leading 19 points going into halftime.
Kindrel Morris was the Viking leader for the offense, notching 12 points including a three-pointer.
At the half: U-Chicago 41, North Park 29
North Park was not able to play catch-up in the second half, falling to the Maroons by a score of 68-87.

North Park (0-4) will continue their long stretch away from home on Saturday, November 24 when they take on Muskingum University at 4:00 PM CST. The Vikings will bounce back the next day to play Waynesburg University at noon CST.
