CHICAGO, Ill. --
On Homecoming weekend, the North Park football team fell to the Augustana Vikings 7-41.
Augustana marked single digits in every quarter until they exploded for 21 in the fourth.
The strong Augustana ground game marked 394 total yards and an impressive 6 touchdowns while completing only 11 passes. The visiting Vikings also notched 24 first downs and picked off a pair of passes. One of those interceptions was returned 39 yards across the field, leading to an Augustana touchdown in the ensuing drive.
Quarterback JDrew McGovern entered in the fourth quarter and helped the Vikings tally their lone touchdown of the game. Out of his four passing attempts, the freshman from Milan, Michigan connected with senior receiver Hunter Hinkel for a 50-yard touchdown, the lone score for the North Park offense.
Unfortunately, Augustana's 41 points proved too much and North Park lost their fifth game of the season.
