North Park overcame a rough start to snap a three-game CCIW losing streak with a 64-53 victory over Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin Wednesday night.

Both senior T.J. Cobbs and junior Colin Lake went for a game-high 19 points each while Lake buried a season-high five three-pointers as he was nearly perfect from the arc, connecting on 5 of 7 field goals.

After the Vikes found themselves down 12-5 in the opening seven minutes of the game they quickly turned things around with a 16-7 scoring burst which put them ahead 21-19 on a three-pointer from junior Jordan Robinson with 5:56 left in the half. Carroll came back to tie the game at 21-21 but North Park closed out the half with an 8-5 run to post a 29-23 lead at halftime.

Carroll responded early in the second half however as it used a 7-0 run to pull ahead 33-29, but North Park put the chokehold down from there on as it erased the deficit with a 16-2 spurt that put them in command at 45-35 after a Cobbs' lay-up with 12:20 remaining. A Lake three-pointer with 6:58 left then gave the visitors their largest lead of the game at 60-46. Carroll did close within nine twice in the final four minutes but never drew any closer.

Along with Cobbs and Lake, Robinson added 15 points and Billy Kirby had seven along with three assists. Senior Juwan Henry returned to the lineup for the first time in four games since sustaining an injury and played four minutes. Tyler Ingebrigtsen led Carroll with 16 points.

North Park (16-7, 9-5) returns to action Saturday when it hosts Augustana College at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
