Using a combined effort from five different double-figure scorers, North Park earned its second-straight CCIW victory and its third in the last four games with an 87-83 win over visiting Wheaton College Wednesday night.
Led by a season-high 23-point performance, but more importantly a career-high seven assists from junior Colin Lake, North Park held off any chances of a Wheaton rally as they erased an early deficit and built as much as a 15-point advantage midway through the first half.

Although the Thunder closed within three points three times in the final 3:49, NP had an answer each time as it sent Wheaton to its third conference loss of the season.
Along with Lake, senior Juwan Henry added 22 points and Darius Brown tallied a career-high 16 points. T.J. Cobbs finished with 11 and Billy Kirby added 10 as he knocked down a pair of three pointers.
North Park forced 12 turnovers with seven coming off steals and generated 20 points off the Wheaton miscues. They also had 13 fast break points, 11 coming in the first half, and tallied 35 first half points in the paint. Aston Francis led Wheaton with a game-high 23 points.
North Park (11-2, 4-2), which is now only one game back of the CCIW lead, hosts Elmhurst College Saturday night for a 7 p.m. contest. Â
