Augustana produced 42 points in the paint and generated 10 fast break points as it handed the Vikings a 79-66 loss Saturday night in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action.
Despite 17 points each from junior Juwan Henry and sophomore Jordan Robinson, the Vikings couldn't find an answer for Augustana's balanced scoring attack as AC had four different players finish in double-figure scoring.
A lay-up from sophomore Colin Lake gave the hosts the initial lead but from there Augustana opened up a 10-point advantage at 23-13 and later held a 38-29 edge at halftime. North Park did manage to whittle the lead down to seven in the opening minutes of the second half after a Lake jumper, but Augustana wasn't going to be denied as the visitors pushed their lead to as much as 30 points with under five minutes remaining in the contest.
Junior Joe Biko came off the bench and knocked down a pair of three-pointers to finish with nine points. Ben Ryan led Augustana with a game-high 19 points.
North Park (9-5, 1-2) returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts Wheaton College for a 7 p.m. contest.
