Edgewood College Results

The North Park tennis team struggled unfortunately in a pair of matches Sunday, losing to both UW-Oshkosh 8-1 and Edgewood 6-2 in Madison, Wisconsin.

The day was especially difficult for No. 1 singles player Lisa Daniels, who had a few family issues to tend to. But like she's done all year, Daniels fought her way through it to bounce back from two singles losses with a doubles win 9-8 (7-4) over Edgewood College's Morgan Wilson and Anna Miles. Daniels paired with Gabrielle Nordstrom to earn the win.

Nordstrom meanwhile pulled through with a solid day, earning a pair of singles victories. She opened the day with a 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-4 triumph over Oshkosh's Bailey Sagen, then backed that up with a victory over Edgewood's Miles 6-4, 6-1.

"Gabi continues to have just a solid spring season," Vikings' head coach Karl Clifton-Soderstrom said. "She did a great job today."

Marlee McCabe was on track to have a solid day as well, but a slight back injury hampered her play against Edgewood's Ashli Paulson and McCabe fell 7-6, (7-3), 6-1.

"Marlee continues to show great improvement in many areas of her game," Clifton-Soderstrom said. "She played a brilliant first set against Edgewood, but her back started giving her issues again which was unfortunate."

North Park (5-12) ends the season at Dominican University for a 10 a.m. match this Saturday.
