A second half surge fueled North Park to its third-straight victory Monday night as the Vikings went into finals week with an 84-78 win over visiting Albion College.

North Park overcame a 36-32 halftime deficit as reigning College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week Juwan Henry scored 21 of his game-high 32 points in the second half.

With the score tied at 43-43 with 13:54 left, Henry lost a contact lens but quickly replaced it and spurred the hosts to a 9-2 scoring run – capped off by a Joe Biko three-pointer – which gave the Vikings a 52-45 advantage.

Jaylen Fordham, who came off the bench to score eight points for the Britons, brought Albion within four at 73-69 on a driving lay-up with just under 1:30 to play, but a lay-up from Michael Hutchinson, coupled with a transition bucket from Jordan Robinson and a pair of Hutchinson free throws put the Vikings back in control at 79-69 with 38 seconds left. Albion didn't draw any closer than the final score thereafter.

Henry connected on 12 of his 21 attempts, including a three-pointer, and was 7 of 8 from the free throw line. His second-straight 30-point performance (33 against Coe College Dec. 12) was the first for an NPU men's basketball player since Roshawn Russell accomplished the feat in the 2008-09 season. Henry also garnered six steals and six assists.

Robinson finished with 22 points as he went 8 of 13 from the floor, while grabbing 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. T.J. Cobbs added eight points along with two steals. Robert Ryan led Albion with 25 points.

North Park (5-2) returns to action Saturday night when it hosts the University of Dubuque for a 7 p.m. contest.
