Despite a valiant comeback in the final 20 minutes of the match Saturday afternoon in Rock Island, North Park suffered its first CCIW loss of the season, a 3-2 setback to Augustana College.

The Vikings twice answered Augustana goals with tallies of their own, but AC ended up putting away the game-winner two minutes prior to North Park's second goal of the game. Jonathan Colucci scored his fourth goal of the season on a two-time assist in the 68th minute to give the hosts a 3-1 advantage at the time. Junior forward Diego Lashlee put away his fifth goal of the year in the 70th minute off an assist from Christoffer Ostberg, but the last of North Park's four shots, two of which came from Lashlee, were either high or wide of the goal mouth.

Augustana captured a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute on Colucci's first goal of the game, but North Park responded to tie the match at 1-1 11 minutes later when Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh buried his 13th goal of the year off a Przemyslaw Zabielski assist. Sandwiched in between the Vikings first goal of the afternoon and Augie's third was a tally from AC's Michael Brazinski off a Colucci assist.

North Park moved its overall conference record to 4-1 but stayed tied atop the standings with Wheaton College as both teams own 4-1 marks.

The Vikings (12-4) look to rebound Wednesday night when they host Elmhurst College, as part of a doubleheader with the women's team, at 7:30 p.m.
