CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park University women's soccer team shut out the Central College Dutch, 1-0, at the Holmgren Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings struck first in the third minute when senior captain Sam Moreno marked her first goal of the season. Both Moreno and sophomore Clara Wernbo notched three shots as the Vikings led the Dutch 1-0 after the first 45 minutes.

Halftime: North Park 1, Central 0
In the second half, North Park and Central were at a standstill, as neither team found the back of the net. However, Central had plenty of opportunities, firing 14 shots against six of North Park's in the second half. Sophomore goalkeeper Theresa Weiss and the North Park defense staved the Dutch offense off, however. Weiss saw eight shots in the last five minutes, holding Central scoreless.
Weiss earned her first career shutout as the Vikings defeated the Dutch 1-0.
