DECATUR, Ill. -- The North Park University women's soccer team fell to the Millikin University Big Blue, 0-4, at Frank M. Lindsay Field on Saturday.
Both the Vikings and Big Blue were held scoreless until the 36th minute when Big Blue goalkeeper Hope Limoges sent in a long kick towards Maddy Wood. Wood then broke away from the Vikings' defense and scored the match's first goal. This score would hold going into halftime, as the Vikings trailed by a goal.
Making her first start of the season, sophomore Cassie Fajardo saved six shots, but the Vikings could not muster a shot of their own.
Halftime: Millikin 1, North Park 0
The Big Blue started the second half on a high note. In the 48th minute, Lucy Koger scored a goal and a minute later, Faith Fitzsimmons notched a goal to put Millikin up by three. The Big Blue would add one more goal in the 71st minute to solidify their 4-0 win.
Unable to score, the Vikings fell to the Big Blue, 0-4.
