CHICAGO, Ill. – The North Park University women's soccer team earned a double-digit win over Mount Mary University on Saturday afternoon, scoring 10 goals in the shutout.
In the first minute of play, senior Sam Moreno ran through just about every Blue Angel defender, firing a close-range shot into the back of the net to put the Vikings up early.
Next, after freshman Lydia Patton chipped a pass to sophomore Clara Wernbo from midfield, Wernbo ran another twenty yards to pick up her first goal of the season.
Before the half would end, freshman Mishel Habaci tallied her third goal of the season in the 24th minute and Wernbo notched another goal on her own follow-up shot in the 32nd minute to give North Park a 4-0 lead at the half.

The Vikings were not ready to let up in the second half.
To get the scoring started, Moreno scored another breakaway goal in the 61st minute, Wernbo added two more goals in the 82nd and 83rd minutes, and junior Lorena Soria tallied her third goal of the season with a corner-kick header in the 83rd minute, and the 10th goal of the match in the 89th minute.
Overall, the Vikings utilized 53 shots (28 on goal) to dominate the Blue Angels, 10-0.

Career Recognition
With her 30th career goal, senior forward Sam Moreno ties Alisa Bredensteiner (C '98) for the all-time goals lead at North Park University. Additionally, sophomore Clara Wernbo's 13 points in a single match also sets a new all-time high.
