CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park University women's soccer team was shut out by the Illinois Wesleyan University Titans, 7-0, at the Holmgren Athletic Complex on Saturday.
The Titans did not waste any time to get on the scoreboard in the first half. In the fifth minute, Caelyn Steffens scored her fifth goal of the season and the Titans scored again in the ninth minute, growing their lead to 2-0.Â
Neither team could amass any more goals the rest of the half, as Illinois Wesleyan led North Park, 2-0, at the half. Senior Sam Moreno and freshman Moa Thomsson marked the two shots for the Vikings. Â
Halftime: Illinois Wesleyan 2, North Park 0
The Titans kept piling on in the second half, tallying five goals, while the Vikings could only muster one shot as the Titans shut out the Vikings, 7-0. Â
Final: Illinois Wesleyan 7, North Park 0
