A four-year letter winner with the North Park University basketball team, Rick was named a team captain for 1999-2000.
Rick was awarded 2nd Team All-CCIW in 1998 and 3rd Team All-CCIW in 2000. His 1562 career points solidify a seventh-best all-time mark.
Rick is also North Park basketball's leader in three-pointers made with 251. Capping off his decorated career, Rick held a career free throw percentage of .863, which places him second-best all-time.
Following his sudden death in 2009, the North Park Alumni basketball game was named in his honor.
