Randy Youngman was a four-year letter winner and starter for the North Park baseball program.
During his most prolific year in the 1977 season, Youngman was a team captain, team MVP, and 1st team All-CCIW selection as a pitcher, finishing fourth in the CCIW with a 1.84 ERA and leading the league in innings pitched and strikeouts. He ranks in the program's top 10 in career ERA (3.13, 8th), career strikeouts (161, 7th) and career innings pitched (217, 9th).
Youngman has spent more than 40 years as a sports writer, most notably with the Chicago Tribune, Dallas Times Herald, and Orange County Register. During this time, he has helped raise more than one million dollars for Orange County charities.
