North Park University Athletics

Dr. Poonam P. Thaker, M.D., has been the Medical Director and Head Team Physician for North Park athletics since 2009. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has her CAQ in Primary Care Sports Medicine. She received her medical degree from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed a residency in Family Medicine at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She conducted her Sports Medicine fellowship training at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill.

Dr. Thaker is also the team physician at St. Patrick,  Ridgewood, and Resurrection high schools in Chicagoland, and holds medical leadership positions for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle. In addition, she has travelled internationally as a team physician with the US Soccer U-17 Women’s National Team.
