North Park senior first baseman Anthony Bragg earned American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove honors for the 2017 season. Â
Bragg, a native of Geneva, Illinois and a graduate of Geneva High School, was the lone representative of from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin to earn the selection and the first Viking since the 2015 season to be honored.
A two-time All-CCIW selection, Bragg led the team with a CCIW fourth-best .381 batting average. He also ranked top-five in the conference with a team-best 61 hits, including 14 doubles and a team second-best four home runs. His defense sparkled at first base as he totaled a team-best and CCIW second-best 353 putouts without a single error for a 1.000 fielding percentage.
Bragg ended his career with 599 putouts which ranks seventh all-time in team history and a .992 fielding percentage which ranks second all-time.
