North Park men's basketball senior Juwan Henry earned a spot to represent the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division III All-Star Game Saturday, March 18 in Salem, Virginia at the Civic Center.
A two-time First Team All-CCIW honoree, Henry was a unanimous at large selection by the committee, and is the first-ever NPU men's basketball player to earn a selection. The teams are composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight regions in Division III, two seniors selected by online voting on D3hoops.com and two seniors chosen by the all-star game executive committee.
One of only three players in North Park history to score 2,000 points in his career (2,016) Henry earned his third overall All-CCIW nod as his 18.5 points per game average ranked second on the team. Despite sustaining an injury and having to sit out four games, Henry managed to maintain a 41.2 field goal percentage and he buried 19 three-pointers while swiping 28 steals. He scored a season-high 31 points in an 81-77 win over the University of Dubuque which was part of a six-game winning streak for the Vikings to start the season.
The All-Star Game is slated for a 3:30 p.m. EST tip-off time and will take place prior to the NCAA Division III National championship game. It will be streamed LIVE on the D3Hoops.com website.
