North Park overcame a nine-point deficit in the final 5:10 to earn a thrilling 88-87 win over the University of Chicago in Hyde Park Tuesday night.

Junior Colin Lake buried his fourth three-pointer of the evening as time expired to give the Vikes the win. His trey capped off a 17-7 scoring run in which the Vikings buried three three-pointers and forced one key turnover in the waning seconds of the game.

After Juwan Henry closed the gap to 87-85 on a three-pointer with seven seconds left, Vikings' junior Jarvis Cannon swiped the ball loose from UChicago's Jordan Baum setting up the dramatic final play. For Lake it was his only three of the second half as he poured in 21 points on 6 of 11 shooting.

Junior Jordan Robinson led the Vikings with a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds while Henry added 20 points. All five starters finished in double-figure scoring for the Maroons as Noah Karras led UChicago with 17. UC led 45-42 at halftime and later extended their advantage to eight at 74-66 with 8:10 remaining before North Park made its comeback.

North Park (1-0) returns to action in one week when it travels to the University of Dubuque for a 7:30 p.m. game Nov. 22.
