The North Park women's and men's cross country teams finished 9th and 13th, respectively at the UW-Parkside Rosa Invitational Saturday in Somers, Wisconsin, the same site as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships in three weeks.

The Viking women totaled 286 points and were led by junior Miranda Gomez, who finished 52nd overall with a time of 20:21.3. She was followed by Kathleen McCarrick with a time of 21:08.2 and Zoe Larson, who rounded out the top-three with a 21:19.3.

Host UW-Parkside claimed the team championship with 36 points, out-distancing second place St. Francis with 56 points, while Wheaton College claimed third overall with 83 points.

On the men's side, senior Saul Lopez clocked a 27:50.4 to pace the Vikings, while Erik Oldenburger followed with a 28:35.2. Ricky Barajas was third for NP as he finished with a 28:38.9.

Parkside's men's team also claimed the team title with 21 points with Saginaw Valley taking second with an even 40. Wheaton College was third with 88.

North Park returns to action Saturday, Oct. 17 with its final race before the conference championship as the Vikings travel to the UW-Oshkosh AAE Invite in Winneconne, Wisconsin for a 10:30 a.m. race.
