On a cold and blistery afternoon Saturday at the North Park Track in River Park, the Vikings didn't let the weather conditions affect their day.

North Park junior Dave Anderson continued to show great form. He took first in both the shot put (13.09m) and the discus (42.92m) battling through the tough conditions. Alex Richardson joined Anderson with a fifth place finish in the shot put, and Matt McNamara took seventh in discus.

Other members of the men's team also showed solid performances. Kevin Vaseghi was edged by five tenths of a meter finishing second in the high jump (1.90m).

Saul Lopez claimed fifth with a time of 2:04.61 in the 800 meters and Zach Auger captured a sixth place finish in the triple jump (11.93m). Sophomore Adam Axelsson cracked the Top 10 with a ninth place finish in the 200 meters as well (24.00).

On the women's side, junior Alexa Baker had a fantastic day winning both the 100 meters (13.34) and 200 meters (27.23) in an impressive fashion.

Senior Heather Paton placed sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:41.84. Charissa Woods, finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles.

In the field, the NPU women had some good performances as well. Olivia Dwight (29.19m) and Sarah Tenglin (27.88m) finished third and fifth, respectfully in the javelin competition. Sophomore Natalie Swanson finished just out of first in the shot put with a final measurement of 11.23 meters, and landed an eighth place finish in discus, finishing first in her flight.

North Park returns to action this Friday when it competes in the Rex Foster Open at UW-Whitewater in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
