The North Park baseball team will begin its pursuit for an NCAA Division III National Championship this Wednesday as they begin play in the NCAA Tournament at the UW-Whitewater Regional.
A total 56 teams qualified for the national tournament, and will compete at eight different regional sites across the nation. The winners of each of the eight regionals will then qualify for the NCAA Division III College World Series, a double-elimination tournament taking place at

North Park, which was one of the 38 teams that earned an automatic qualifier into the tournament, earned their spot by winning the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season title and the CCIW tournament championship, a first for the Vikings since the 1990 season.
North Park finished the regular season with an overall record of 32-12 and a 14-7 mark in the CCIW. The No. 3-seeded Vikings will face No. 2-seeded UW-LaCrosse this afternoon at 1 p.m.
