The North Park women's rowing team finished fifth overall in the team standings with 19 points at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference championships, hosted in Gifford Pinchot State Park in York County Pennsylvania, Saturday afternoon.

North Park's varsity eight boat took fifth in the final, as they rowed to a time of 7:42.6, missing fourth place by less than forty seconds.

“It was a tough meet with tough conditions,” North Park head coach Ally Koubsky said. “The ladies fought the harsh cold weather and stood up to it to get a great time and finish strong in the conference.”

The Vikings' novice four boat was flirting with a top-two finish in its final, finishing third with a time of 9:04.6, only eight seconds off second-place Bryn Mawr University, while NP's second varsity eight boat was fourth with a time of 8:12.7.

“Our ladies did a great job,” Koubsky said. “This was a nice warm up for Dad Vail in a few weeks.”

North Park returns to action at the Dad Vail Regatta, Friday May 11 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
