Second Round Results

The North Park men's golf team is currently fifth with an overall team score of 639 after the second round of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships Friday and Saturday at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Illinois.

Sophomore Tobias Nordin is tied for 19th overall with a 158 two-day score after shooting an 80 on the first day and coming back to improve his score by two strokes on Day 2. Junior Robin Hakansson is close behind, tied for 28th with a 162 as he shot an even 81 on both days.

“The guys are playing well,” North Park head coach Hal Jenkins said. “Through the conditions, I feel we have a very good chance to improve our scores in the next round this coming week.”

Along with Hakansson, sophomore Oscar Lidheim is also tied for 28th with a 162, as he shot 86 on the first day and came back to shoot a team-best 76 on the second day.

“That was huge for Oscar,” Jenkins said. “That will definitely keep him in the hunt.”

North Park continues CCIW Championship play this weekend when it turns to Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine, Wisconsin starting Friday at 9 a.m.
