The North Park men's golf team finished fifth with an overall team score of 631 at the Blue Boy Invitational, hosted by Illinois College Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore
Sean Bostrom led the Vikings as he finished tied for 10th overall with a two-day score of 155. He shot an 81 Friday, but came back to take seven strokes off his score to card a 74. He was followed by sophomore
Tobias Nordin, who shot a 76 on the second day to finish with a 156 two-day score, good for 12th overall.
“Both those guys had great second days,” North Park head coach Hal Jenkins said. “Everybody came out and played the course tough though. The conditions weren't that great, but our guys stepped up and met the challenge.”
Junior
Robin Hakkansson, who was tied for seventh after a 77 on the first day, came back to shoot an 82 for a 159 score. Freshman
Martin Carlsson was also strong as he had a two-day score of 162, and sophomore
Oscar Lidheim took a pair of strokes off his score to shoot an 81 on the second day.
North Park returns to action Tuesday when it competes in the Carthage Invitational at 10 a.m. in Kenosha, WI.
