The North Park women's rowing team traveled to Camden, New Jersey to compete in the Knecht Cup, hosted in the Cooper River this past weekend.
North Park competed in two races, the women's novice four and the varsity eight, and they came out with some strong times.
“It was a good race, and we had some good times, but the races overall were tough for us,” North Park rowing coach Ally Koubsky said. “Still it was good experience for us and it definitely prepared us for our conference meet (coming up).”
In the novice four, North Park took sixth with a time of 8:49.69, while their finish in the varsity eight was a fourth-place run, coming in with a 7:47.51.
“It was good to see us get the fourth place finish,” Koubsky said. “It will definitely help in the long run.”
North Park returns to action this weekend when it hosts its own North Shore Challenge in Skokie this weekend. The first race begins at 9 a.m.
