Complete Football CCIW Academic All-Conference List
A total of 11 student-athletes from the North Park football team were named to the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Academic team for the fall of the 2011-12 school year at North Park University.

Josh Startup was named the recipient of the CCIW's prestigious Jack Swartz Academic award, the first NP football player to earn the honor in the last nine years.
“This is a testament to how hard our guys work in the classroom and on the field,” said seventh-year head coach Scott Pethtel. “We're doing great things within the program with academics and athletics and I couldn't be more proud of this group.”
To be eligible for Academic All-Conference, student-athletes must carry an overall grade point average of 3.30 or above and have lettered in their respective sport for the past season, while the Jack Swartz award, which is named in honor of the late former Wheaton College tennis coach, athletics director and CCIW commissioner who enjoyed a distinguished career in intercollegiate athletics, both as a student-athlete and coach, as well as an administrator, a student-athlete must carry a 3.5 GPA or above.
“Josh has put in a lot of hard work for our program and in the pursuit of his career after North Park,” Pethtel said. “He has done a tremendous job and is a natural born leader.”
Startup started in all five games he appeared in on the offensive line, and was the recipient of the George Amundsen Viking Warrior Award.
