The North Park women's basketball team fell 65-51 to visiting Elmhurst College in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action Saturday night.

Senior Roxxanne Jones finished with 19 points to lead North Park as she shot 8-of-13 from the field, and 3-of-5 from the free throw line. Junior Sarah Peterson added nine points and six rebounds, while both juniors Dana Christensen and Shaina Yalda tallied seven points each.

North Park struggled offensively shooting the ball, and Elmhurst took advantage as the Bluejays led by as many as 14 in the first half. They took a 34-24 lead into halftime, and later pushed their advantage to 20 in the second half after a three-point play from Fiona McMahon, who finished with 11 points.

Despite the loss, North Park out-rebounded Elmhurst 12-6 on the offensive glass, and earned an 11-8 edge in second chance points. Megan Ney led Elmhurst with 16 points as four different Bluejays finished in double-figure scoring.

North Park (8-11, 2-6) returns to action Wednesday night, Feb. 1 when it hosts Carthage College at 7:30 p.m.
