Kris Grahn was named a Second Team NCAA Division III All-American by the National Soccer Coaches of Association for the 2011 season. It is his second-straight All-American honor.
A native of Tibro Sweden, Grahn, who earned his fourth straight All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin First Team selection as well, was second on the team in goals scored (6), assists (5) and points (17). He had one game-winning goal in North Park's 2-1 win over Wheaton College in the CCIW semifinal game Nov. 2. Grahn was also sixth in conference points per game (1.13) and assists. He is the lone student-athlete selected as an All-American from the CCIW.
Grahn graduates as one of the most prolific players in the history of the North Park program. Not only was he selected as a First Team All-CCIW pick all four years, but he was named the CCIW Player of the Year for the 2010 season, and led the Vikings to their first-ever victory in the NCAA tournament as a junior.
North Park finished the 2011 season with an 11-4-3 overall record, and a 4-2-1 second place finish in the conference. They advanced to the NCAA tournament for the fourth time in the last seven years.
