CHICAGO, IL (September 23, 2011) – The North Park cross country teams continued its rebuilding process on Friday by competing at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational, hosted by Augustana University at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, IL.

Fielding scoring women's and men's teams for the first time since the 2009 season, the Vikings set numerous personal records and took a great step forward as a program. Liz Berntsen (Stavanger, Norway), competing in her first collegiate cross country race, led the women's team, covering the 6k course in 27:31. Kaleb Nyquist (McMinville, OR – McMinnville High School) once again was the top men's harrier, finishing the 8k course in a time of 30:37. The teams resume competition next Friday at the North Central College Invitational in Warrenville, IL.
