CHICAGO, IL (April 18, 2010) – The North Park men's golf team holds a sixth-place position with a 626 team score through the second round of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship, hosted by Millikin University, at the Decatur Country Club.

Illinois Wesleyan holds the overall lead, while Millkin follows in second and Wheaton third.

Freshman Robin Hakansson is tied for 10th and leads North Park with an overall score of 153. He shot a 76 on Day 1 and a 77 the second day. Senior Blake Blumenstock is close behind in an overall tie in 13th place with a 154. He shot an opening round 78 and came back to improve his score by two strokes in the second round. Senior Rob Anderson is also tied for 16th with a 156, including a team-low 73 in the opening round. Sophomore Dave Niemiec is tied for 33rd with a 163 and sophomore Andy Hayes is 38th with a 166. Play will resume April 30 and May 1 with the final rounds.

North Park returns to action April 20 when it competes in the Carthage Invite at Kenosha Country Club in Wisconsin
