CHICAGO, IL (March 17, 2011) – The North Park softball team earned back-to-back wins and its seventh victory in a row on the fourth day of a five-day trip at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida.

After earning strong 5-0 and 10-0 wins over Norwich University and Nichols College, respectively March 15, the Vikings came back with two more victories, a 7-3 win over Delaware Valley College Thursday, followed by a 9-0 decision over Amherst College. North Park is off to a 7-1 start, the best start under 15th-year head coach Dan Gooris.

Against Delaware Valley College, senior Kate Seebacher continued to add to her win total in the pitcher's circle as she picked up the victory, while junior Courtney Lucht impressed again as she tossed a shutout against Amherst.

Both senior Katie Anderson and junior Jessica Refojo provided the offensive highlights on the day as Anderson connected for a three-run home run and Refojo smashed a solo shot in the offensive barrage against Amherst.

North Park finishes up its Spring Trip with St. Joseph's College of Maine at 1 p.m. followed by Edgewood College at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
