CHICAGO, IL (October 6, 2011) – The North Park women's soccer earned a 5-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College in non-conference action Thursday night.
North Park recorded 43 shots in the contest with senior Sarah Hansen scoring two goals in the victory. Hansen's first goal came in the 16th minute when she took an assist from senior Sarah Wilson, and her second came in the 25th minute on an Anika Johnson assist.
Before Hansen tallied both goals, Wilson put away what turned out to be the game-winner in the 15th minute when Hansen assisted on a cross. Freshman Emma Lundeen added a goal, her first of the season, and Johnson finished off the scoring in the 43rd minute unassisted.
A total of 20 Vikings saw playing time, including sophomore Tessa Boccumini who fired eight shots. Freshman Sarah Nelson also saw playing time and recorded six shots. Sophomore keeper Casey Faure started her second game of the season and earned her first shutout, playing 79 minutes.
North Park (5-5-1) returns to action when it travels to Wheaton College for a 5 p.m. contest with the Thunder, as part of a doubleheader with the men's soccer team.
